5 EASY WAYS TO KEEP THE MIND FIT

The body is an impression of the mind. Health of the mind affects the body by causing imbalance in the energy system of the cells. If mind management is poor, then even a slight interaction with the external environment can trigger emotional imbalance and loss of inner stability and calm.

The fitter the mind, the simpler is its management. The quality of mental substance (the constituents of mind) determines the fitness of mind while management refers to the ability to start, moderate and stop its activities at will.

This is visible in case of the body. Everyone knows that consuming nutritious food keeps the body fit. Assimilating vitamins, minerals, proteins, fats and carbohydrates and eliminating all unwanted substances is what makes the body healthy. Balanced diet, regular detox and exercise together are needed not only for the well-being but also for keeping the body beautiful. The mind too, hence, needs some conscious practices to stay fit.

Some easy ways are –

Managing brain waves by the practice of brainwave entrainment

The brain is made of nervous tissues which radiate and catch electromagnetic current. It acts like an antenna and by its inherent property, tunes in with the wave that is in its range. We need to practice discernment here. Is that wave desirable? If yes, then keep tuning in. If no, then tune in to the desirable wave by turning the antenna towards it. Hold it to establish a connection. This conscious practice is brainwave entrainment.

The wave that the brain tunes in with, its energy gradually enters the body through the mind and the cells start to vibrate at that frequency affecting the mood and overall health.

Some ways to practice brainwave entrainment –

  1. Mantra meditation
  2. Chakra meditation
  3. Taking sound bath
  4. Visualization
  5. Prayer
  6. Writing or reading
  7. Listening to music
  8. Creating art
  9. Doing brain exercises like practice of reasoning, comprehension and memory skills
  10. Socializing with right people

Becoming your own Guru

Tuning in with the heart and practicing discernment by being one’s own Guru, attracts the right Guide in form of Realized Master. In company of right Guru, the brain is recalibrated creating ideal environment for The Guru to make the shift happen, that is, bring the mind to a desirable state.

The Guru who has attained mastery in his life will quickly bring the mind in tune with The Self, kicking in intuition, will power and for the ready mind – the meditative state. The mind is composed of layers of energy formed of ideas that originate from thoughts, habits and belief systems. Peel the layers off (like the layers of onion) and we come face to face with who we really are. This is Self Realization and comes by the grace of a realized Guru.

Thinking good positive thoughts (keeping Sattva high)

Sattva is light. The higher the Sattva, the lighter the mind.

Spending time in nature

The beauty of nature and fresh air cleanse energy and bring the mind in the present moment.

Playing games and sports but not stopping there..

..and bringing playfulness in life and relationships.

Practice light heartedness as it protects the mind from getting too attached with ideas, and thus, prevents their integration. The mind feels lighter and refreshed.
